According to Nielsen -- "Personal recommendations and consumer opinions posted online are the most trusted forms of advertising globally, according to the latest twice-yearly Nielsen Global Online Consumer Survey of over 25,000 Internet consumers from 50 countries. "
According to the same study, approximately 90% of consumers trusted opinions from real friends and a whopping 70% trusted consumer opinions posted online!
This is great news for consumers and great news for TALKBack Content. For those who haven't read our "About" page we got our start by advocating word-of-mouth on the Web in 1999. At that time, many web site editors balked at contaminating the quality of their site by adding consumer reviews and recommendations. Times sure have changed. As late as April 2001, the forerunner of our Company was listed number one and two in the Google search results listing for "consumer generated content".
Even our patent came from inventing a new way for consumers to express opinions in more detail than the traditional five star review process. We wanted to give people who were uncomfortable writing comments or who did not have the time to write a comment a new mechanism to express their opinion by simply selecting and rating keywords.
We feel very fortunate to have an opportunity that will enhance how consumers share opinions online.
