The patented system can be licensed to companies for internal use as well as organizations that seek to resell the rated word process as part of an existing service offering or embedded into a software suite. License fees for resellers will likely be based on a revenue share model.
A patent only license is available for companies that wish to reprogram the application.
Beyond Polls plans to develop a turnkey system that has the similar configurability as the widget/apps available from Widgetbox.
Anyone interested in licensing the patent should contact Greg Petras at 602-412-3629 or email.
In 1998, a few people set out to build the first Word of Mouth Network where people could share, review and find word of mouth recommendations on topics from books, music, outdoors, entertainment, and restaurants.
We realized early that the traditional five star rating process and search methodology prevalent in 1998 did not produce consistently relevant search results or effectively communicate user word
of mouth feedback. The process of capturing user reviews in comments reduced the number of people that would contribute to those capable and willing to write a comment.
We had to solve this problem or discontinue the project. So we invented an approach that enabled people to objectively express their opinions about a subject in greater detail than just a five
star rating. This more granular approach of sharing word of mouth improved the quality of the recommendations and the relevancy of search results. This discovery received a U.S. Patent that is
the foundation for BeyondPOLLS.
